Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Summary
Ensure health and safety compliance by securing equipment with chock blocks and jack stands before repairs. Perform thorough inspections of heavy handling units, including tractors, trailers, and loaders, to identify deficiencies and required repairs. Correct equipment issues through preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing light and heavy duty vehicles. Disassemble, inspect, and replace worn or broken parts, then fit and adjust new components. Complete and submit all associated paperwork for tracking preventative maintenance schedules and documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain a clean, hazard-free shop area at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Registered as a Heavy Duty Apprentice
- Experience working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Class 5 Driver's License required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working on Vacuum Trucks is an asset
