Job Summary
Under direct supervision, the Apprentice Funeral Director assists with arrangements and services related to the deceased. Key responsibilities include working with families to meet memorialization expectations, consulting on merchandise and services, preparing required documents, and participating in service arrangements. This entry-level position requires enrollment in a Mortuary School, proficiency in communication, and a valid driver's license. Candidates must be capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting and handling caskets.
Required Qualifications
- Active attendance or enrollment in a Mortuary School/Program required
- Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to pass applicable Board exams (National/State)
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to empathize with client families and their guests
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Bilingual is a plus
- High degree of overall computer proficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
