Job Summary
Assist qualified electricians in performing electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations at Gin sites and Grain Services operations. Learn to fault-find PLC systems, maintain motor control systems, and read electrical drawings while conducting hazard identification, risk assessments, and compliance checks. Carry out basic maintenance tasks and support continuous improvement initiatives across remote sites, including occasional extended stays. Requires a valid driver's licence, high school certificate with solid math grades, and willingness to undergo background checks and pre-employment medicals.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and awareness of health and safety risks in industrial environments
- Genuine interest in developing a career as a qualified electrician
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to safely use hand tools
- Willingness to learn and work within a team environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges
- Valid driver's licence (or willingness to obtain one)
- Australian Citizen or have the right to live and work in this location
Desired Qualifications
- Basic understanding of ginning or agricultural processing machinery (advantageous but not essential)
- Knowledge of electrical systems or basic wiring principles
- School Certificate / High School Certificate with solid grades in Mathematics
