Job Summary
Apprentice Electrician E-4 supports electrical installations on active construction projects under the direction of experienced electricians and field leadership, supervising lower E-rated apprentices and helpers as needed. Responsibilities include hazard identification, coordinating materials, delegating basic tasks, reading NEC codes and blueprints, pulling wire, using hand tools, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring safety and compliance with NFPA 70E, and communicating progress to field leadership. Learning objectives cover blueprint reading, electrical drawings, panel schedules, motor controls, PLCs, energy management, and safety topics, with a pathway for promotion to Licensed Journeyman Electrician. Requires transportation to job sites and the ability to perform physical tasks in variable conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Active Apprentice Electrician License through TDLR
- Completion of all competencies for Electrician 3 (E-3)
- Experience with NFPA 70E safety standards
- Valid Driver’s License
