Job Summary
Operate a commercial refuse or recycling vehicle in tandem with a seasoned driver or trainer, performing pre- and post-trip inspections and documenting checks via DVIR. Manually or mechanically load and empty residential and commercial containers, utilizing hoisting devices to lift bins into the truck hopper while assisting with backing maneuvers. Communicate customer requests and service interruptions to Dispatch or the Operations Manager, reporting any incidents, accidents, or unsafe situations immediately. Follow route assignments, complete end-of-day documentation, and attend all scheduled training programs and briefings required by WM.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
- Commercial or Non-commercial Driver's License Class C or D
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, grasp, feel, talk, perform repetitive motions, and require eye/hand/foot coordination
- Must strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols
- Must be subject to drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment screening, post-incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing

- Commercial or Non-commercial Class C or D w/ CDL Permit
