Job Summary
Perform routine maintenance on heavy-duty trucks including lubrication, filter changes, and belt/hose replacements. Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs while supporting basic electrical work on batteries, lights, and starters. Inspect vehicles to report findings to senior technicians and aid in diagnostics and troubleshooting. Follow shop procedures and safety standards while maintaining a clean work area and documenting all performed tasks. This entry-level role provides hands-on training under experienced technicians to develop skills for a full Diesel Technician position within 1–2 years.
Required Qualifications
- 0–2 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
- Must be able to work with heavy equipment and mechanical systems
- Must be able to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, and shop conditions
