Job Summary
Apprentice Carpenter responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings, laying foundations, prefabrication and formwork for concrete structures, repairs to internal/external structures, cement work, assembling and fastening materials for framework, constructing and maintaining structural woodwork, and performing renovations. Requires apprenticeship in carpentry, 2+ years of carpenter experience, knowledge of tools and safety, CSTS training, and preferred certifications; early career development within an employee-owned Chandos environment with competitive wages, benefits, and RRSP matching.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience as a carpenter
- Currently indentured into an Apprenticeship Program, Carpenter
- Knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance
- Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
- Knowledge of workplace safety, and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material and labour estimates
- CSTS training is a prerequisite for employment
- Certifications such as Fall Protection, Elevating Work Platforms, or other site-related tickets
- Experience with a large general contractor (Nice to Have)
