Job Summary
Perform general vehicle maintenance, test systems and components, and identify causes of problems using electronic diagnostic equipment. Drive vehicles for testing, inspect fluid levels, and repair or replace worn parts before breakdowns using power tools and hand tools. Work alongside experienced technicians to learn diagnostic procedures and repair specifications while maintaining efficiency and accuracy. Requires formal automotive education or professional shop experience, a valid driver's license, and strong mechanical aptitude.
Required Qualifications
- Must have either a formal education in automotive technology (already graduated or currently attending) and/or some professional technician experience in a shop (automotive tech, lube tech, general service tech, express service tech, apprentice tech, etc.)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn from experienced technicians
- Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Great attitude, work ethic, and attendance
- Must have basic hand tools
