Job Summary
Appraiser responsible for examining and evaluating vehicle condition and estimating actual cash value of vehicles and equipment for determining total loss or repair. Inspects damaged vehicles, determines depreciation, and codes labour time and parts for input to automated systems. Communicates appraisal details to customers, adjusters and the Special Investigation Unit; collaborates with auto body and mechanical shops to review discrepancies; prepares estimates and supplements for various vehicle types. Requires a motor vehicle body repairer journeypersons certificate, Platinum I-CAR certification, and a valid driver’s license with 5–7 years of related experience. Works in-office at the Saskatoon Central Claims Centre with occasional travel; involves extended hours on a rotational schedule.
