Job Summary
Analytically minded consultant role in Western Canada focused on appraisal and cost estimation. Responsibilities include site inspections to collect data, measurements, and photos of buildings and equipment; conducting research and analysis to develop defensible value estimates; preparing appraisal reports and insurance cost estimates; alternating between fieldwork and office tasks across sectors such as multi-residential, commercial, municipal, and educational properties; collaborating with a team to ensure high-quality, defensible reporting; travel up to 30-40% within the home province and occasional broader Western Canada travel; requirement to reside in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba, with a valid driver’s license. Skills and knowledge include construction familiarity, understanding of building codes, fire codes and bylaws, strong digital literacy, data accuracy, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary education
- Experience with Field inspections of buildings and improvements for costing purposes (asset)
- Knowledge of building design and ability to read blueprints (assets)
- Strong digital literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
