Job Summary
Review and render decisions on non-traditional alternative collateral products, including Property Data Reports, hybrid appraisals, and desktop appraisals, in accordance with internal policy and Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines. Assess data integrity, property characteristics, and market context to determine collateral risk adequacy, identifying missing or conflicting information to place revision requests. Document clear, defensible review notes to support underwriting decisions, audit reviews, and investor inquiries while communicating professionally with internal partners and vendors. Escalate quality concerns, policy gaps, or emerging risk trends to management when necessary. Meet established productivity, quality, and turnaround time expectations within delegated authority.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in collateral risk review
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in Real Estate Professional
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in Mortgage underwriting with collateral decision authority
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in Valuation review or appraisal operations
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alternative collateral products and their appropriate use
- Demonstrated knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collateral eligibility requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of Bank collateral policy and risk‐based decisioning
- Strong analytical and critical‐thinking skills with the ability to assess reasonableness and risk without reliance on a traditional appraisal
- Ability to clearly document decisions and communicate complex collateral issues
- Proven ability to manage an individual pipeline in a production environment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience reviewing alternative valuation products
- Familiarity with automated valuation tools, risk scoring models, and property data analytics
- Experience supporting audits, QC reviews, or investor inquiries related to alternative collateral
