Job Summary
Schedule MRI, CT, PET CT, Ultrasound, X-ray, Mammography, Bone Densitometry, and Nuclear Medicine appointments by communicating with patients, physicians, and staff across facilities. Verify patient demographics, medical history, and insurance eligibility against the RIS automated system, manually confirming coverage and prior authorization requirements when needed. Register arriving patients, create medical records, and update identification cards while alerting nurses of exam contraindications or consulting technologists for appropriateness concerns. Document all exam types, dates, times, and screening information within online RIS forms and notes. Maintain professional communication with Radiologists, supervisors, nursing, and medical records personnel to ensure a satisfied client base. Report any workload pacing issues to the supervisor immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and understand English clearly
- Ability to perform non-routine tasks which require analytical ability and judgement for emergency situations, manage stressful conditions and situations effectively
- Maintain good working relationships and communication with internal staff, patients, physicians, and other medical office staff
- Maintain accuracy in the performance of duties including recording of one's own attendance
- Knowledge of all equipment necessary to perform job functions
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to @ 20 lbs., unassisted, using the proper body mechanics
- Must be able to sit for durations and be able to get up and down and stand for extended periods of time
