Job Summary
Applied Scientist II on the Identity team at The Trade Desk, responsible for designing, researching, building, and delivering data-focused and high-impact identity products. Work involves large-scale data such as tens of millions of transactions per second, applying first-principles approaches and intuition to model and optimize solutions, leveraging knowledge of probability, statistics, graph mining, and computer science fundamentals, and collaborating with business partners to align on opportunities and challenges. The role invites independent contribution to components of large-scale projects, with emphasis on data processing frameworks, scalable algorithms, and product-focused thinking to delight stakeholders. Opportunities exist to explore problems related to graph mining/merging, algorithmic optimization on petabytes of data, and information-theoretic approaches for best-subset selection, within a diverse, globally-distributed team. A strong emphasis on learning, cross-team collaboration, and driving open, evidence-based decision-making in the identity space of digital advertising.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD level degree in a quantitative discipline
