Job Summary
Applied Researcher at eBay will own end-to-end ML projects for image, text, and multimodal problems powering customer-facing experiences. Responsibilities include exploring and prototyping modeling approaches, adapting ideas from recent research to real-world problems, developing ML solutions, productionizing models, building practical ML pipelines, analyzing data, defining success metrics, and iterating based on production impact. Collaboration with peers and clear communication are key as you move ideas from exploration to deployment and measurement in production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience working on applied research, ML models or data-driven systems
- Solid foundations in machine learning, statistics, and software engineering
- Strong programming experience in Python
- Good communication and collaboration skills
