Job Summary
Independently perform short-duration project tasks with clearly defined objectives, analyzing results using prescribed techniques and solving problems requiring investigation of limited variables. Prepare calculations, assist in technical report presentations, and support interface development with machine design, structural, and aerodynamics engineers. Aids in producing detailed drawing packages by supplying design input or performing CAD work. This entry-level Mechanical Engineer role focuses on unique, multi-discipline projects for wind tunnels, rocket test stands, and nuclear facilities within the aerospace and defense sectors.
Required Qualifications
- B.S.M.E. from an accredited engineering school
- Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time (90%)
- Must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time (90%)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background test
- Regular attendance is mandatory Monday thru Thursday 7:30 am to 5:15 pm & Friday 7:30 to 11:30 am (100%)

Desired Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering Internships and/or Co-ops, particularly in adjacent industries (see below)
- 3D CAD experience; Inventor and/or Solidworks preferred
- FEA software experience; Ansys, NASTRAN, and/or Inventor preferred
- Machining and fabrication experience (milling, turning, welding, laser-cutting, forming, etc.)
- Basic experience with instrumentation (proximity sensors, vision sensors, strain gauges, scales, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience of pressure vessels, mechanisms, and high heat flux design
- Aerospace & Defense

- Factory Automation (material handling, web handling, process automation, etc.)
- Fluid Power (Hydraulics/Pnumatics)
