Job Summary
Role focuses on building production speech models and end-to-end systems for Salient’s production voice agents in consumer finance. You’ll own core parts of the system from problem definition to production deployment, post-train LLMs for voice agents, and develop evaluation, harnesses, and monitoring to improve real-time conversational quality. This is a high-ownership role on a small, elite team delivering improvements that impact millions of live conversations, with in-person collaboration in the San Francisco office (start time 8:00 AM).
Required Qualifications
- Strong engineering fundamentals
- Experience with speech modeling, or LLM post-training
- Familiarity with ASR, TTS, turn detection, speech enhancement, multilingual speech, LLM post-training, or model evaluation
- Ability to diagnose messy real-world model failures and turn them into practical improvements
- High ownership, strong execution speed, and comfort operating in ambiguous technical areas
