Applications Support Sr Analyst

Job Summary
Senior Applications Support Analyst responsible for running and maintaining Citi's production environment for reference data applications that serve hundreds of partner systems across markets, services, banking, and functions. You will provide technical and business support, manage incidents and post-mortems, coordinate system changes and releases, optimize monitoring and observability, collaborate with development teams to improve stability and performance, implement automation to reduce toil, and maintain comprehensive runbooks and documentation. The role requires strong Unix/Linux expertise, experience with monitoring and logging tools, familiarity with databases and messaging systems, and the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-IT stakeholders. You will act as the SME for the applications, infrastructure, and processes, guiding risk mitigation and ensuring production stability and security while operating with significant independence in a high-stakes environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in an Application Support role
- Deep expertise in Unix/Linux and advanced Shell scripting
- Proficiency with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics) and log aggregation platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK)
- Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn
- Experience with containerization platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes)
- Experience with relational (Oracle, MSSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
- Strong knowledge of messaging solutions (Tibco EMS, MQ, Kafka)
- Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization
- Effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues to non-IT staff
- Issue tracking and reporting using tools
- Knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools
- Ability to plan and organize workload
- Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholder
- Proven expertise in supporting high-volume, mission-critical applications that process, manage, and distribute financial data related to securities, pricing, and rates
