Job Summary
Applications & Support Scientist to be the scientific face of the Focus LC platform, developing methods, running demos, onboarding customers, troubleshooting real-world applications, and representing Axcend at conferences and customer sites; collaborate with sales, engineering, and applications teams to deliver publication-quality results and gather field insights for product and firmware improvements.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field OR MS with 3+ years of industry experience in analytical instrumentation
- HPLC depth: hands-on method development experience with HPLC and LC-MS; comfort with reverse-phase and adjacent modes (e.g., ion-exchange, HILIC, normal-phase)
- Scientific communication: publications, conference presentations, posters, or technical reports
- Customer-facing presence: confidence with senior scientists, lab managers, and customer staff; handle tough questions
- Commercial awareness: understanding boundary between technical and commercial conversations
- Curiosity and rigor: researcher's mindset; design experiments and document work clearly
- Travel and location: ability to travel approximately 50% domestically and internationally
