Job Summary
Applications Specialist to support the planning, design, and implementation of custom machinery and equipment. You will work directly with customers and internal engineering teams to define requirements, develop practical solutions, and deliver safe, high-quality designs that meet performance, schedule, and cost targets. Responsibilities include collaborating with estimators to define opportunity requirements; engaging with customers at a technical level to identify deliverables; developing concept drawings with estimators and customers; collaborating with subject matter experts; identifying technical risks and mitigating issues; preparing and delivering technical presentations to internal teams and customers; assisting in estimating labour and material costs for quoting; travel to customer locations; staying current with industry standards; developing and sourcing innovative methods for design, manufacturing, and processes; attending training seminars; participating in reviews and testing. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; Inventor is an asset. Knowledge of the food industry, food safety, and sanitary design. Ability to communicate completed designs with 2D/3D drawings. Design for Manufacturing techniques and automated equipment experience. Accommodation available upon request during recruitment in accordance with applicable law. Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma preferred
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; Inventor experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of the food industry, food safety, and sanitary design
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and solve complex technical problems
- Able to communicate completed designs effectively using 2D/3D engineered drawings
- Applied knowledge of Design for Manufacturing techniques
- Working knowledge of automated equipment
