Applications Engineering Manager

Job Summary
Lead the local Applications organization through NPI, ramp-to-volume, and sustaining operations for a strategic advanced-node customer in Texas. Define and evolve the organizational structure, including hiring plans and capability development, while translating on-product strategy into executable priorities aligned with customer commitments. Drive tool qualification, wafer introduction, and pilot-line performance to ensure yield and availability meet mother fab benchmarks. Act as the senior Applications representative to the customer, shaping joint priorities and strengthening long-term strategic partnerships. Establish structured operating rhythms and business reviews to maintain alignment between local execution and global standards. This role builds a high-performing, multi-disciplinary HVM support organization from an initial team of ~10 engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
- Minimum 12 years of experience in IC manufacturing, lithography, metrology, or process technology
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in technical, customer-facing environments
- Proven experience in NPI, ramp, HVM, or advanced manufacturing operations
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing technical teams
- Strong program or operations management experience in cross-functional environments
- Experience working with global stakeholders and complex customer structures
- Legal authorization to access controlled technology as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.) prior to beginning work
- Up to ~30% domestic and international travel
