Job Summary
Support trials and programming improvements through software and application modifications, managing offsite projects via standard project management methods including scope estimation, hour tracking, reviews, and delivery training. Lead New Product Introduction activities, transitioning customer products from concept to validated production-ready processes while collaborating with internal teams to meet performance targets. Develop and optimize machine tools using Laser Ablation, Laser Drilling, and EDM to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Drive continuous improvements by implementing innovative solutions and standardizing best practices. Demonstrate machine tools to customers, provide technical training, and deliver applications support for contracts and subcontract production programs. Assist production teams with metallurgical sample analysis and develop technical documentation and work instructions. Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 3+ years of 5-axis machine tool experience, and 50-75% travel to customer locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with 5-axis machine tool controls
- Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following areas - Laser Drilling, Cutting, or Welding, Laser Ablation (micro machining), or EDM Hole Drilling
- Strong understanding of the principles, operation, and Kinematics of 5-axis machine tools
- Ability to interpret, manipulate, and apply complex 3D geometry
- Proven experience developing machining applications for complex components, preferably within aerospace or industrial gas turbine environments
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Conrollers (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software
- 50-75% Travel to our customer locations
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to our customer facility access requirements
