Job Summary

Architect, evaluate, and support system solutions for Advanced Data Capture products within the retail point of sale market. Provide training to partners and customers, assist in system integration, and serve as the initial escalation point for internal and external stakeholders. Address performance and usability challenges to identify core issues and ensure fixes are validated for future releases. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product teams to communicate resolutions, analyze competitive options, and inform the product roadmap. Manage vision labs and remote testing infrastructure, design system demonstrations, and provide Tier 3 technical support while assisting with on-site deployments for high-priority opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Experience working with advanced data capture and retail point of sale solutions
  • Knowledge of basic electrical engineering concepts like schematics, wiring, hand tools,etc
  • Knowledge of basic imaging concepts
  • Role is required to be onsite in Holtsville, NY office (Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week)
  • Travel will be 30% or more

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree
  • Knowledge of retail point of sale processes and environments
  • Knowledge of – and experience with – coding languages like Windows, Linux, Python, etc
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration experience
  • Strategic Mindset: A keen awareness of the competitive landscape in mobile AI and the ability to translate that knowledge into forward-looking technical strategy
  • Hands-on electrical engineering experience including working with schematics, wiring, hand tools, etc
  • Hands-on experience with machine vision, computer vision, or image processing including setting up cameras, lensing, lighting, filters, focal lengths, etc
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or logistics processes and environments a plus
  • Experience with Windows OS's such as Win7/Win10
  • Experience with Linux OS and common Linux toolsets and scripting languages
  • General understanding of mechanical, electrical, and industrial automation systems
  • Certified Vision Professional – Basic a plus
