Applications Engineer - Pump & Fluid Systems

Job Summary
Review customer requirements, specifications, drawings, and application data to perform pump sizing, selection, and system configuration for industrial and municipal applications. Prepare quotations, bills of material, and technical proposal packages while developing schematics, layouts, and supporting documentation. Support submittal development and technical review after award, then stay engaged to ensure equipment packages and final deliverables remain aligned with specifications. Work with vendors, purchasing, production, service, and sales teams to keep projects aligned and moving. Maintain accurate records of quotes, opportunities, projects, and correspondence while developing expertise across assigned product lines and software tools.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Applications Engineering or related pump industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering or technical discipline
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
- Understanding of pump hydraulics, pump construction, and system applications
- Ability to interpret specifications, contracts, P&IDs, drawings, and technical submittal requirements
- Ability to develop technically accurate proposals and bills of material
- Strong communication skills and sound engineering judgment
- Comfortable working through both pre-award and post-award phases of a project
Desired Qualifications
- Pump OEM or industrial pump distributor experience
- Experience working with ERP systems, quotation tools, or order management systems
- Experience with CAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools
