Job Summary
Applications Engineer for Polymer Pumps identifies and understands complex applications to develop solutions aligning with customer needs; serves as technical bridge between sales, development, service, and customers with knowledge of mechanics, polymer science, and operational goals; collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize solutions, provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful product integration and information retention; responsibilities include maintaining product/application knowledge, collaborating on project engineering/management and quoting, guiding internal teams on design risks, supporting new product development, planning customer lab trials, and delivering technical training across customer levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer or related engineering field, or an Associate Degree in Engineering with 7 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a four-year degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project Management experience with external customers
- Experience using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, hard facing/cladding/coating, heat treating
- Mechanical or electrical design background
- Proficiency with CRM/Database tools
- MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Able and willing to travel 25% or more
