Applications Engineer II for Connector Products

Job Summary
Execute strategic and day-to-day engineering activities for the Connectors team, managing daily processes and technical inquiries while serving as a primary source of expertise for the business and customers. Identify customer technical challenges and develop effective solutions by performing New Product Development activities, including calculations, design reviews, and engineering evaluations to ensure projects are completed efficiently and cost-effectively. Anticipate engineering challenges and recommend new product development opportunities, providing technical support for the introduction and expansion of existing HIC products into new markets. Interface directly with recognized subject matter experts within the customer base in North America. Travel approximately 10% based on demand.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of practical engineering experience in the oil and gas industry
- preferably with pressure-containing connections (e.g., flanges, piping systems, or subsea connections)
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
- Ability to communicate highly complex concepts, anticipate potential objections, and influence senior-level stakeholders to consider alternative viewpoints
- Results-driven, with the ability to establish, monitor, and effectively manage the achievement of technical objectives
- Travel will be approximately 10% but could vary based on demand
Desired Qualifications
- Utilize strong CAD skills, with SolidWorks preferred
- Working knowledge of Mathcad is advantageous
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME Section VIII, NORSOK, and API
- Working knowledge of metal-to-metal sealing products
- Working knowledge of buoyancy system products
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Master's degree
- Demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills
