Applications Engineer (Field Based)

Job Summary
Provide advanced technical consultation and support to customers as a subject matter expert for Mycronic products and systems. Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex system software and hardware failures while performing autonomous weekly Preventive Maintenance to ensure operational continuity. Develop custom solutions for diverse applications and influence product development by documenting customer feedback and collaborating with engineering teams. Serve as the primary technical liaison between clients and internal stakeholders, overseeing system buyoffs, demonstrations, and new product setups. Prepare compelling presentations and deliverables to foster strong relationships with customers, vendors, and senior associates. Submit all required documentation accurately and timely, including trip reports and service records, while adhering to rigorous safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- At minimum three years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in a Field Service or Applications Engineering role
- Strong optics/laser, electrical and computer competency
- Training or certification in computers and MS Windows environments
- Training or certification in Linux
- Training or certification in Matlab
- Training or certification in complex maintenance
- Experience with physics
- Experience with optics/lasers
- Experience with electronics
- Experience with robotics
- Experience in semiconductor lithography
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A valid passport
- A valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a Field Service or Applications Engineering role preferred
- Training or certification in computers and MS Windows environments, Linux, Matlab and complex maintenance preferred
- Experience with physics, optics/lasers, electronics, robotics experience preferred
- Experience in semiconductor lithography is preferred
