Job Summary
Applications Engineer at Cognex: provide application guidance for medium-complexity machine-vision projects, integrate Cognex products with PLCs/PCs/controllers, troubleshoot and optimize deployments, support Sales with technical inputs, and share learnings with the AE community. Requires a technical bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in technical application development, willingness to travel up to 50%, and on-site work in Rueil-Malmaison, France. Proficiency in MS Office and exposure to vision, optics, lighting, automation, and related industrial networks; programming skills in languages such as JavaScript, VB/VB.Net, C#, C++, and/or .Net are beneficial. Hiring location is France with extensive travel; strong communication and customer-facing skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
- Typically requires 2-4 years of experience in technical application development
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (extensive travel across France)
- English language proficiency (written and oral)
- Ability to work on-site in Rueil-Malmaison, France
- Experience in industrial controls/automation, image processing, optics and lighting is desirable
