Applications Engineer

Job Summary
Provide technical support for mining customers and regional Sales teams, conducting site-based problem solving and warranty-related technical analysis. Assist with product design, customisation, reverse engineering, and product improvement work by preparing CAD models, drawings, and simulation inputs. Support product trials, testing, and validation while ensuring technical information is shared clearly across design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams. This remote-based role requires approximately 50–75% travel to customer sites in Zambia and focuses on Excavator Buckets, Ground Engaging Tools, and Crawler Systems. Candidates must hold a Mechanical Engineering degree and experience in mining or heavy manufacturing environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in design, reliability, application engineering or a related technical role
- Experience in mining, construction equipment, fabrications, heavy manufacturing or similar industrial environments
- Product design, product development or project delivery experience
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD and FEA software
- A current driver's licence and ability to travel locally and regionally
- Zambian citizenship
- Valid Zambian Permanent Residence permits
- Ability to travel to customer sites (approximately 50–75%)
- Must complete a psychometric assessment
- Must complete a pre-employment medical
- Must pass drug and alcohol testing
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Siemens NX, ANSYS, Siemens Teamcenter PLM or 3D scanning
- Knowledge of surface mining equipment, mine site requirements and MSHA or relevant regional mine hazard training
