Job Summary
Act as the principal point of contact for customer engineers, generating thermal management solutions using 3D modeling and 2D drawings. Manage individual projects from prototype build and test through to production transition, ensuring all processes meet customer requirements. Liaise with Sales, Production, and Manufacturing Engineering while maintaining archived customer information and adhering to health, safety, and 5S housekeeping standards. Support the Engineering function when other engineers are unavailable. This role involves managing time and priorities to ensure Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives are met. Located at Ashington with on-site requirements, this position supports Boyd Corp's global innovation in sustainable engineered materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Up to 3 to 4 years engineering experience in a design, development and manufacturing environment
- Familiar with the use of CAD to generate 3D models and 2D drawings
- Highly numerate and computer literate
- Excellent analytical problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of 3D CAD design in one or more of the following; Machined components Assemblies
- Ability to manage time, priorities and information efficiently
- Accurate and diligent
- Project management of individual technical projects
- Ensuring all Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives are met in the projects
- Must be capable of working on own initiative
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is desirable but not essential
- Suitable industrial experience in line with the role would equally be considered
- Whilst not essential, a knowledge of thermodynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics would be useful
- Commercially aware with regard to design and development of product
