Job Summary
Applications Engineer 3 at Ascential: lead large-scale automation projects from scope definition through delivery, provide expert technical consultation for complex customer challenges, develop ROM, Budgetary, and Firm Fixed Price proposals with detailed technical concepts and cost estimates (managing PandaDoc changes and SLA/TAT), collaborate with sales to identify opportunities, engage customers with solution presentations, coordinate cross-functionally to ensure proposal feasibility, mentor junior engineers, manage CXM tasks pre- and post-sale (MBR/QBRs, change orders, scope tracking, revenue capture), drive expansion opportunities within assigned accounts, and travel up to 25% for site visits and customer engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5+ years in applications engineering, project management, or proposal writing in custom automation or engineered solutions
- In-depth knowledge of automation systems in the Medical & Life Sciences sectors
- Proven track record managing complex technical projects from concept to delivery
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D Solid Modeling and capital equipment cost estimation
- Experience managing pre- and post-sale customer relationships, including change orders, scope tracking, and MBR/QBR delivery
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PandaDoc or equivalent platforms
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
