Applications Development Technology Lead – Vice President

Vice President Applications Development Technology Lead responsible for technical leadership of Citi's software engineering programs. The role centers on aligning engineering initiatives with SAFe Agile practices, architecting scalable cloud-native systems, building foundational middleware and UI components, and leading data engineering efforts (ETL/ELT, data governance, big data). The position champions Generative AI adoption across product lines, applying Python and AI tooling to accelerate SDLC, while contributing hands-on with Java and React for enterprise-grade applications. Key duties include leading large-scale engineering initiatives, mentoring a global engineering team, conducting solution design and development, and collaborating with DevOps to optimize CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability. A strong emphasis is placed on stakeholder management, security/compliance, and delivering business value in a financial services context, with required experience in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and enterprise-scale agile delivery.
