Job Summary
The Ohio State University seeks an Applications Development Consultant to design, develop, and implement full-stack .NET-based software solutions that support performance, decision-making, and modernization efforts. Responsibilities include architectural design and development of scalable, secure applications across distributed systems; ensuring cross-browser compatibility; enforcing coding standards, testing strategies (unit/integration/automatic), and security; monitoring performance; performing problem analysis and optimization; developing reports, dashboards, and visual tools to support management and strategic decisions; and acting as an independent contributor who may guide others and coordinate with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes translating business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring accessibility and compliance, collaboration with stakeholders, and delivering long-term, high-impact solutions. Location is Columbus, Ohio, with in-person work expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six (6) years of relevant experience
- Experience with .NET
- Experience with API development
