Applications Analyst - Lab Systems

Job Summary
Support current applications and lead new implementations impacting clinical departments at UW Health, specifically working with Blood Bank, Point of Care, HLA software, and Epic. Configure technical servers, manage vulnerability assessments, and provide IS advice to staff across varying technical knowledge levels. Collaborate with other IS analysts to ensure seamless system support while maintaining excellent communication with users. This role involves hybrid work at 8501 Excelsior Dr with on-call, weekend, and holiday rotation. Candidates must have 3-5 years of IS applications experience, including design, development, and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, Health Administration, Engineering, or related field
- Two (2) years of relevant experience and education
- Demonstrated success in design, development, configuration, support, and adoption of small to medium to scale solutions
- Demonstrated success applying critical thinking to identify problems and opportunities
- Demonstrated success teaching and mentoring
- 100% FTE
- day shift
- Monday – Friday
- core hours between 8a – 5p
- in person work to be completed at 8501 Excelsior Dr
- on-call
- weekend and holiday rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, Health Administration, Engineering, or related field
- Experience writing technical documentation or with project management
- Demonstrated success using, configuring, developing, or supporting the applications, tools, and platforms relevant to the position
- Three (3) to five (5) years progressively responsible experience in an IS applications field
- Demonstrated success working on or leading initiatives that use agile methods
- Experience in information services or technology, direct clinical care, health care operations, or health care administration
- Healthcare subject matter expertise including at least two (2) years of experience in a health system, academic medical center, or health payer organization
- Experience supporting systems and/or operations in a 24x7 healthcare setting
- Clinical Systems expertise
- Work with Blood Bank, Point of Care and HLA software in addition to Epic
- Technical server setup for applications and vulnerability management
- Candidates must have excellent communication skills in sharing information with users within the department, as well as within our team
