Job Summary
Application Support Engineer responsible for day-to-day production support in a high-volume, low-latency trading environment. You will monitor systems, manage incidents, perform capacity planning, and serve as the primary liaison between traders, developers, infrastructure teams, and external vendors. You’ll own assigned applications, enhance electronic trading platforms (pricing engines, algorithmic components, and STP workflows), manage connectivity to external venues, contribute to resilient and scalable designs, coordinate release/change activities, and participate in a follow-the-sun support model with occasional on-call and weekend work. The role requires strong Linux/Windows administration, market connectivity expertise, scripting/automation skills, and experience with CI/CD tools, Java/C++/.NET stacks, and front-office-facing stakeholder engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in Application Support within electronic trading or capital markets environments
- Solid Linux and Windows server environments
- Wintel Engineering
- Good understanding of market connectivity, networking, and infrastructure
- Ability to analyse system performance across CPU, memory, network, and messaging layers
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Shell, PowerShell, SQL)
- Experience with CI/CD and deployment tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory)
- Familiarity with Java, C++, or .NET stacks
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with front-office exposure
- Proven ability to manage incidents and deliver improvements in high-pressure environments
