Job Summary
Application Support Engineer responsible for tier 2 support of ODW Logistics’ Transportation Management System (TMS); investigates production issues escalated from tier 1 support, analyzes data with SQL to diagnose and correct data issues, monitors application health with observability tools, triages and resolves tickets, applies small fixes, documents known issues and solutions, collaborates with the development team on recurring issues and root-cause analysis, and supports release and deployment activities including smoke testing and post-deployment verification. The role requires strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, and the ability to work across a modular backend and modern web frontend powering freight operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science or related program, or equivalent professional experience
- 2–5 years of experience in software development, application support, or a related technical role
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write, troubleshoot, and optimize queries against relational databases
- Experience reading and navigating codebases to trace issues, even if not a primary developer
- Familiarity with ticketing and issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira)
- Comfort using logs, monitoring dashboards, and diagnostic tools to investigate production issues
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and how web applications communicate
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts
