Job Summary
Application Support Engineer responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting brokerage system operations within Interactive Brokers’ TOPS team in Hong Kong. Responsibilities include monitoring system health, analyzing and resolving operational issues, participating in post-incident reviews, providing internal 2nd-level technical support, monitoring batch jobs, developing monitoring tools, and acting as the primary escalation point for brokerage system issues. Preferred skills include securities/commodities market knowledge, experience with Unix/Linux, scripting (Shell, Python, Perl), and strong communication in English. Hybrid work arrangement: 4 days in office / 1 day remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or apprenticeship in a technical discipline
- 1 – 5 years of experience in Linux/Unix systems and incident management
- Strong communication skills and fluent in English
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and related technologies
- Ability to work day shifts during Hong Kong business hours, including weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of securities and commodities markets
- Prior experience in retail or institutional trade support
- Experience with Unix / Linux style command line interfaces
- Previous experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python)
- Strong communication skills in English
