Job Summary
Conduct monthly conference calls to share application success stories and distribute details to the branch team. Identify and close major revenue-producing projects by collaborating with clients to understand their unique manufacturing processes and automation objectives. Relay customer specifications and regulatory needs accurately to SMC Engineers while providing continuous training to sales employees, customers, and distributors on product applications. Design, configure, and customize automation solutions by working closely with internal engineering teams and addressing system configuration, integration, and performance issues during the implementation phase. Document sales activity in the SalesConnect CRM system and assist sales employees in detailed technical presentations at events such as lunch & learns and expos. Stay abreast of competitive outlooks, industry trends, and emerging technologies to recommend process improvements and new automation solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Advanced industrial automation product and application experience with SMC or equivalent industry
- Experience with or knowledge of competitive product and applications
- Demonstrated ability to correctly apply and implement our newest 'high tech' products
- Extensive SMC Application knowledge or equivalent industry
- Extensive experience with various manufacturing products and processes, including (but not limited to) the following: packaging, electronics, food, chemical, automotive and medical
- Proficient in CRM and the use of computers and ability to learn new programs and tools as required
- Clean driving record
- Travel with some extended stay away from home
- Physically capable of lifting SMC products and displays up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Fluid Power Pneumatic Specialist Certification preferred
