Job Summary

The Application Specialist, Pharmacy will support Epic HIS and pharmacy applications within UHN Digital, Software Services. Responsibilities include configuring systems based on clinical workflows, conducting testing (UAT, performance, regression, integration), developing and documenting policies/procedures, acting as a liaison between end users, Epic, and vendors, and supervising electronic drug distribution to ensure accurate order processing and administration. The role involves system analysis, upgrades, data monitoring via queries/reports, user training, creating technical/documentation artifacts, participating in on-call support, and contributing to policy improvements while ensuring compliance with medication management standards. Requires a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Ontario pharmacist licensure, and 4–6 years of related experience with hospital pharmacy and Epic-related work; strong collaboration, change-management, and PHIPA/PIPEDA knowledge are also expected.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or recognized equivalent
  • Licensed with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Part A
  • 4-6 years of practical and related experience and/or 1 year on-the-job training
  • Experience with one or more clinical/business applications in a large healthcare organization
  • Proven understanding of how clinical requirements translate into a technical solution

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or recognized equivalent required
  • Licensed with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Part A
  • 2+ years as a practicing hospital pharmacist
  • 4-6 years of practical and related experience and/or 1 year on-the-job training
  • Experience with one or more clinical/business applications in a large healthcare organization
  • Epic certifications strongly preferred: Willow Inpatient, Willow Inventory (others welcome)
  • Knowledge of HL7 Interfaces strongly preferred
  • PM/Project Management certification would be an asset
  • PHIPA and PIPEDA familiarity
  • Strong understanding of how clinical requirements translate into technical solutions
  • Experience leading change and applying change management frameworks
