Application Specialist - Maximo

Job Summary

Provide expert application support, maintenance, and administration for the Maximo Application Suite and associated applications. Manage and enhance the Maximo infrastructure to ensure platform stability, performance, and availability. Gather business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and design, develop, configure, and document system enhancements. Act as the primary subject matter expert, working with vendors to resolve issues and implement improvements while delivering user training and knowledge transfer. Support project delivery from design through implementation, execute testing activities, and maintain databases and reporting infrastructure. Participate in a paid out-of-hours support rota.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience supporting, administering, and configuring Maximo Application Suite (MAS) v8/v9
  • Strong understanding of MAS Architecture, including Red Hat OpenShift containerisation and cloud-hosted environments
  • Expert functional knowledge of: Asset Management
  • Expert functional knowledge of: Work Management
  • Expert functional knowledge of: Inventory Management
  • Expert functional knowledge of: Purchasing
  • Experience with Maximo Monitor, Health, Predict, and Mobile
  • Strong knowledge of the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF)
  • Experience developing and supporting REST and SOAP APIs and enterprise integrations
  • Experience administering and maintaining large-scale Maximo datasets and governance processes
  • Proficiency in: Automation Scripts
  • Proficiency in: Python/Jython
  • Proficiency in: JavaScript
  • Proficiency in: YAML
  • Proficiency in: XML
  • Strong database knowledge across DB2, SQL, and Oracle
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Experience delivering support services within an asset management application environment
  • Experience managing system governance, data quality, and stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Participation in a paid out-of-hours support rota
  • Hybrid working (2 days in the office)
  • Location: Falmer, Brighton
  • Evidence of their identity
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Criminal record check (DBS)
  • Verification of their employment and/or education history for the past three years
  • Successful completion of all pre-employment checks, including security vetting

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience within the Water or Wastewater industry
  • Knowledge of project delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
  • Understanding of digital and enterprise system architecture
  • Experience with mobile workforce or field service applications
