Job Summary
Perform metallurgical investigations or failure analyses to determine root cause of defects and steel quality issues. Produce quality investigative reports and material related documentation. Prepare metallographic samples including sectioning, mounting, and polishing. Utilize optical and scanning electron microscopy to evaluate metallurgical features and analyze material for steel cleanness and characterization. This full-time summer 2027 internship begins May 17, 2027, with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $19.25 to $33.50. Candidates must maintain a 2.5 GPA and complete 30 credit hours by spring 2027 while attending an accredited college or university.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester
- Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred majors: Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related
- Microsoft Office experience
