Job Summary
Lead the applications engineering team to design and deliver hydraulics, electric drives, and electronic controls solutions for off-highway mobile equipment. Drive budgeting, resource allocation, and project execution while mentoring staff and promoting employee development. Collaborate with sales, customers, and suppliers to translate needs into engineering solutions, support customer adoption of new technologies, and assist with client system start-ups at customer sites. Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and program electronic controls (Danfoss Plus+1 Guide) to develop and validate designs; stay abreast of industry trends and advocate for innovative, cost-effective technology offerings. This role requires extensive leadership experience, a customer-focused mindset in an employee-owned environment, and willingness to travel to client sites and industry events.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience in application engineering or a related field
- at least 5 years of leadership experience managing technical teams, budgets, and resources
- strong proficiency in hydraulic systems design, troubleshooting, and principles for off-highway mobile applications
- strong proficiency in electric drive systems—architecture, motor control, sizing, interfacing
- proficiency in programming electronic controls (e.g., Danfoss Plus+1 Guide)
- familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD)
- combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted for competency
- successful performance on pre-employment tests
- ability to pass required drug test, physical examination, and background check
- ability to operate autonomously and align with customer-driven environment
