Job Summary
Provide technical support for all product platforms to customers, field sales, and customer service. Support existing activities, develop new technical solutions, and maintain technical contacts within an assigned account base. Proactively drive the technical agenda with end-user customers to establish brand preference and define the end-user technical voice throughout the SKF value chain. Identify and manage technically oriented projects, including high-value platform integration solutions, while resolving rotating equipment issues through system and bearing component recommendations. Deliver product training and conduct on-site visits alongside phone and email communications. Manage technical relationships with customers, responding to inquiries, handling complaints, and evaluating technical risks. Travel approximately 30% of the time as customer needs dictate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or comparable degree)
- 5+ years application experience in an industrial environment, calling on customers, preferably in focused industries (Pulp and Paper, Metals, Mining, Mineral Processing, Cement, or Food and Beverage)
- Bearing or rotating equipment focus
- Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and manufacturing process knowledge
- Proven track record of proactive and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically with demonstrated drive and passion
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Outcome oriented, critical thinker capable of prioritizing to achieve results
- Motivated self-starter with careful attention to detail
- Travel approximately 30% of the time as customer need dictates
