Job Summary
Create and modify 2D and 3D engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, while conducting static analysis and performing mechanical, structural, and electrical calculations to ensure product design integrity. Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to support accurate manufacturing and assembly, then conduct feasibility studies to address customer inquiries and resolve technical difficulties. Participate in design reviews, provide status reports, and maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, and projects within company-approved databases. Travel to project sites for start-up, integration, sales support, and training services as required.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or A.A.S. in Computer-aided Drafting and Design with four years applied experience
- SolidWorks
- MS Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural calculations
- Proficiency in statics and mechanics
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to the sales team, production, and customers
- Available for travel (<10%)
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a similar role or industry
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- AutoCAD
- Project Management experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical calculations
- Software programming experience, such as C++, SQL, VBA, and macros
- Direct experience in high-voltage switchgear and power switching devices
- Electrical controls wiring and schematic experience
