Application Engineer - Downhole Tools

Job Summary
Provide technical support and expertise to clients and internal teams on drilling applications and technologies, including independent technical recommendations during drilling operations. Engineer solutions to improve customer performance utilizing products from the business's portfolio, such as directional drilling tools and drilling motors. Analyze drilling performance using operational data and KPIs to identify optimization opportunities, while determining causes of drilling dynamics from logs to apply information for improved tool performance. Lead technical application investigations, prepare customer presentations, and conduct training sessions for clients and internal staff on drilling tool technologies. Collaborate with Sales to provide technical market intelligence and manage the introduction of new products in the region. Act as the regional technical focal point for assigned product lines, supporting regional business growth through application expertise.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of relevant oilfield experience, including exposure to downhole tools
- Strong technical knowledge of drilling processes, including torque & drag analysis and hydraulics
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and cross-functional departments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage workload independently and responsibly
- Proven technical problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI and Spotfire
- Willingness to travel within SEA
- Proficiency in English
