Job Summary
Application Engineer needed to support sales with technical HVAC system design, equipment selection, and application support for clients, contractors, and internal teams. Responsibilities include reviewing project specs and drawings to select equipment, preparing schedules/submittals/technical documentation, supporting quotes/proposals and value engineering, collaborating with design engineers, contractors and end-users, troubleshooting equipment/applications, providing lifecycle project support from pre-sale to installation, staying current on HVAC technologies/codes, assisting outside sales to achieve territory goals, and producing basic takeoffs. Requires a Bachelor’s or equivalent technical degree, 1-5 years in HVAC design/sales support, strong knowledge of HVAC systems, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Alternately: Minimum 2 years certificate or associates degree in a technical program such as Mechanical Engineering
- 1-5 years of experience in HVAC design, sales support, or applications engineering
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, Industrial processes, and building mechanical systems
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team Player attitude
