Job Summary
The Application Engineer 2 role is an inside, office-based, senior individual contributor responsible for supporting complex customer applications and projects involving pumps, process equipment, and hygienic systems. It involves working with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to interpret process requirements, size and specify equipment, and ensure technically accurate solutions are quoted and ordered. Key duties include technical customer support via phone/email, preparing and reviewing quotes and BOMs, ERP data entry, documenting assumptions, and collaborating with inside sales. Experience in hygienic/sanitary process equipment and ERP/quote/bill-of-material workflows, plus 4-8 years in a related engineering role, are valued. The position emphasizes customer-facing responsibility, quotes/orders, and office-based work with limited travel.
Required Qualifications
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in application engineering, process engineering, or similar technical role
- pump and process application experience
- customer-facing application responsibility
- experience working in ERP, quotes, BOM, and order-accuracy workflows
- experience in hygienic/sanitary process equipment industry (preferred)
- authorized to work in the United States
- ability to interpret process requirements, P&IDs, and specifications
- ability to size, select, and support pumps and related equipment
- ability to prepare and review complex quotes and BOMs
- strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- ability to document assumptions and non-standard conditions
- desire to contribute to process improvements and training materials
- limited travel as needed
