Job Summary
Develop application components for MyPAS 3.0, a modern Azure-hosted pension administration system replacing the legacy ALICE platform. Build and maintain APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows using Angular, REST, and Azure SQL Managed Instances. Translate technical specifications into production-ready software by developing clear user stories, performing unit testing, conducting code reviews, and submitting pull requests for TRS staff approval. Collaborate with analysts, testers, and project managers to manage multiple development tasks within Agile SDLC methodologies while ensuring enhanced security, reduced manual work, and improved operational resilience for over 210,000 members across 600 school districts.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of modern application development frameworks, programming languages, and secure coding practices
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile
- Knowledge of business process analysis, functional design principles, documentation standards, user story development, and acceptance criteria definition
- Knowledge of TRS business rules, including those specific to the Pension Software System
- Familiarity with legacy systems architecture, dependencies, technologies, and integration points
- Skill in performing all aspects of application development, including coding, unit testing, documentation, code reviews, and submitting pull requests for TRS staff to review
- Skill in developing, enhancing, and maintaining application components that meet functional and technical requirements
- Skill in developing clear, actionable user stories and maintaining a prioritized backlog
- Skill in developing APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows
- Ability to deliver high-quality work output with minimal defects
- Ability to translate technical specifications into maintainable, production-ready software
- Ability to collaborate effectively with TRS technical staff, analysts, testers, and project managers
- Ability to manage multiple development tasks and meet established timelines
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
