Job Summary

Develop and maintain prototype applications and proofs of concept using JavaScript, TypeScript, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript. Design user experiences for digital cartographic visualizations and interactive map-based workflows, collaborating with core development teams on release sprints to provide feedback on APIs and developer tools. Experiment with novel web-based maps, scenes, and spatial data visualizations while leveraging modern frameworks like React, Angular, Svelte, or Vue to build reusable UI components. Explore emerging capabilities including WebGL and browser-based real-time visualization to support advanced 2D, 3D, and multidimensional spatial experiences. This role requires 2+ years of web application development experience, domestic or international travel up to 50%, and a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Base salary ranges from $83,720 to $141,440 USD.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript
  • Experience with modern web application frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, or similar technologies
  • Experience with code management systems and CI/CD
  • Foundational understanding of digital cartography, data visualization, or geospatial application development
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or related field
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 25–50%
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • TypeScript experience preferred
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS Experience Builder, or other Esri web technologies
  • Interest in geospatial technology and applying innovative approaches to solve complex visualization and application development challenges
  • Experience with WebGL, 3D visualization, or browser-based real-time rendering technologies
  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field
