Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Golang within a Google Cloud Platform environment, focusing on RESTful APIs and gRPC. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including troubleshooting production incidents, optimizing performance bottlenecks, and supporting CI/CD automation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting to deliver scalable solutions, while taking ownership of tasks with minimal supervision. This role requires a willingness to accept a permanent night shift schedule and a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3–5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Golang development
- Experience developing and supporting REST APIs
- Experience working with gRPC services
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Understanding of cloud-based application architecture and deployment models
- Experience working within Agile development environments
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement
- Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience working with additional programming languages or technology stacks
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability tools
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or equivalent)
