Application Analyst/Trainer II - Epic Ambulatory

Job Summary
Conduct regular day-to-day communication with internal teams, application vendors, clinical representatives, and subject matter experts to tailor Epic applications to the organization's needs. Perform analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and technical issues associated with different applications. Serve as a support contact while coordinating efforts and status updates with end users and operational stakeholders. Maintain current Epic application certifications and complete required training within the first 90 days. Work Monday through Friday with on-call rotation after hours, weekends, and holidays. Travel throughout the Singing River Health System service area for education and project support.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mathematics, clinically related field or experience
- Current certification in Epic applications
- Completion of required training to maintain Epic certification
- De-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days)
- Appropriate level of de-escalation training
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in developing, implementing, operating, or maintaining information systems in an integrated healthcare delivery system
- Experience in hospitals and/or clinic settings
- Previous installation experience with healthcare systems databases and interfaces in hospitals and/or clinic settings
- Experience with a healthcare system vendor
- Project management or project execution experience on small projects
- Knowledge of applicable operations for which the position requires
- Keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities
- Communication/speaking/enunciation skills
- Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently
- Understanding of workflows in order to design and execute software solutions that solve business or clinical problems
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Ability to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction
- Ability to make fine discriminations in sound
- Close visual acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
- Ability to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Participation in a rotating on-call schedule with other members of the Epic team
- Out of state travel for education purposes
- Traveling throughout the SRHS service area
- Own transportation for travel
